加拿大央行年度金融稳定报告指，当地金融系统具韧性，但美国对加拿大的关税及加拿大的反制可能损害金融稳定，尤其是如果情况长期持续。
报告指，持久的贸易战对加拿大经济构成最大威胁，并增加金融稳定风险，美国贸易政策不确定性短期可能导致市场进一步波动和流动性压力，极端情况下市场波动可能演变为市场失效。
持续的全球贸易战中长期亦将带来严重经济后果。 央行亦提及对冲基金对加拿大政府债券的敞口越来越大。
甚至购买加拿大国债拍卖中近半份额。但其大部分购买是由借贷支撑，使其在市场压力下更有可能退出市场，从而威胁加拿大债市稳定。
